Face Value

In this on-going series, I created plaster replicas of my closest friends’ faces to explore the concepts of identity and perception. I patterned the faces to represent qualities I saw in them, but even after years of friendship, these qualities remain a fluid perception, not necessarily a truth or how they see themselves. This idea and the intricacy of human identity and relationship fascinates me, and is something I will continue to explore as this series unfolds and in future work.
