Cords of three (Functional Swing)

Cords of Three (Functional Swing), Toilet Paper, 2018

I created Cords of Three (Functional Swing) after returning from Nepal. With it,  I focused more specifically on the cords of three element.

I chose to construct a swing—a functional one, capable of holding up to 300 pounds. I focused on the transformation of the toilet paper, and the elements of fun and trust. It takes a certain level of trust to pick your feet up off the ground and rest your entire body weight in a swing made of toilet paper. This work reflects the challenge of placing one’s faith in God, and the surprise and joy I experienced when I discovered it held.
